Summary

Cheryl A. Gale, M.D. is Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology. She earned her M.D. from the University of Minnesota, and completed her internship and residency at Washington University-St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis before returning to the University of Minnesota to complete a fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. In addition to attending on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, Dr. Gale is an established investigator in the areas of fungal pathogenesis and infant gut microbiome effects on short- and long-term health. She has published in Science, Eukaryotic Cell, and Journal of Nutrition, among others. Dr. Gale held the Minnesota Chapter Research Award from the March of Dimes from 2000 to 2002.
